Divisional Controller: Southern Interior of BC

A large forestry company located in the Southern Interior of BC is looking for a Divisional Controller to join their growing team. The Position:

This role will work alongside two other Divisional Controllers and report into the VP level. Support wise, this role will work closely with a group of Controllers, each of whom controls an independent site.

Years of Experience: 5+​ to 7 Years
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager)
Salary: 90,000.​00 - 120,000.​00 $ /​year

The Key accountabilities for this role include:

·         Overseeing all financial operations for your division

·         Support and mentor individuals working within the finance and accounting function

·         Provide guidance from a business perspective to the VP Management teams

·         Oversee financial information flowing into head office from the divisional sites, assist with business planning and the development of key business systems

Required Experience and Attributes:

This role is best suited for an individual with experience in the forestry industry who is looking to grow their career over a long term. On a personality level, people who are driven, intelligent, high energy and flexible tend to be most successful here. People who are can’t “play in a team” generally don’t make it past the first interview.

The following would be considered requirements:

·         Accounting Designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA)

·         Forestry experience

·         Experience as a supervisor

·         Excellent communication skills

Working with many different sites and individuals, the successful Divisional Controller will be an individual who is organized and thoughtful. This is a key role within the group and the Controllers and accounting support staff will look to this role for support, guidance and leadership.

Compensation:

· Base salary will be dependent on experience but it is expected to fall between $90k and $120k per annum
