QUALIFICATIONS:
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry or working towards becoming a licensed RPF.
• Ability to qualify for and take the RPF exam within 4 years.
• Some knowledge of THP preparation and writing.
• Familiarity with the California Forest Practice Rules.
• Experience in fire suppression and some knowledge about forest fuels.
• Understanding of logging, road construction and reforestation operations.
• Ability to hike and navigate alone in remote mountainous regions using maps and compass.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer skills or the ability to develop such skills; experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, and GIS-based software programs helpful.
• Ability to work as a “team” member.
• Have a valid California driver’s license and ability to drive hazardous mountain roads.
