About the Job

Deputy General Manager, Export Manager and Purchasing Manager needed for timber company

Key Duties are:

·         while the Director and General Manager-Canada is travelling, the Deputy General Manager, Export Manager and Purchasing Manager will manage and oversee the Canadian office

·         when the Director and General Manager-Canada is in Canada the Deputy General Manager, Export Manager and Purchasing Manager will assist the Director and General Manager-Canada  to manage and oversee the Canadian office

·         manage the export of logs, lumber and custom cut log products

·         manage the purchase of logs, lumber and custom cut log products for export

·         establishing the Canadian office;

·         building and establishing a competent team and providing leadership;

·         supervising and doing the sourcing of logs, lumber and custom cut log products;

·         overseeing and doing the purchase of Canadian-sourced logs, lumber and custom cut logs, including appropriate inspection;

·         overseeing and doing the purchase of American-sourced logs, lumber and custom cut logs, including appropriate inspection;

·         managing the export operations of Canadian-sourced logs, lumber and custom cut logs to China;

·         managing the export operations of American-sourced logs, lumber and custom cut logs to China;

·         overseeing the shipping of Canadian-sourced logs, lumber and custom cut logs;

·         overseeing the shipping of American-sourced logs, lumber and custom cut logs;

·         managing documentation preparation and execution for all areas of responsibility;

·         liaising with Chinese purchasers and Canadian suppliers;

·         liaising with Chinese purchasers and American suppliers;

·         developing new Chinese purchasers for log and lumber products; and

·         sourcing new log and lumber products that Chinese purchasers demand.

·         develop new markets in Asia, India, Pakistan and Middle East

Skills and Experience Requirement:

 - experience as Marketing Manager, Business Development Executive or Purchasing Manager for lumber and wood products companies  required

- familiarity with lumber and wood products required

- experience with Canadian lumber, hardwoods and softwoods required 

- experience trading lumber and wood products with Asia, India, Pakistan and Middle East markets required

- international experience required

- Asia, India, Pakistan and Middle East Markets contacts to export and sell lumber and wood products to required

- Bachelor or Master’s degree in business, management or marketing required

- Familiarity and experience with Farlin Timbers Groups corporate culture way of doing business useful

Experience: 2+ to 5 years

Compensation

Salary and Benefits: $95,000 per year;
14 vacation days per year;
