CN Utility Consulting, Inc. (CNUC) is currently seeking Consulting Utility Foresters in the Minneapolis, MN area. CNUC is a highly experienced consulting and operations team with an unparalleled understanding of utility vegetation management (UVM) industry best management practices, and legal and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines
  • Submit inspection results to utility clients with remediation recommendation
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned line-clearance crews
  • Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, line clearance crews, and client customers
  • Auditing work of line clearance crews, safety audits, unit reporting accuracy, and accounting accuracy
  • Assistance may be required during major storm events


Qualifications:

  • Two or four year degree in forestry or related fields is preferred
  • One or more years of field related experience
  • Species identification skills and invasive species knowledge, plus knowledge of tree growth rates
  • ISA Arborist Certification required
  • Utility Specialist Certification required
  • Fire science/patrol experience a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent customer service skills a priority
  • Ability to work in rugged terrain and inclement weather
  • Proficient in map navigation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and data collection software (GIS experience a plus)
