About the Job
CN Utility Consulting, Inc. (CNUC) is currently seeking Consulting Utility Foresters in the Minneapolis, MN area. CNUC is a highly experienced consulting and operations team with an unparalleled understanding of utility vegetation management (UVM) industry best management practices, and legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines
- Submit inspection results to utility clients with remediation recommendation
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned line-clearance crews
- Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues
- Serve as a liaison between clients, line clearance crews, and client customers
- Auditing work of line clearance crews, safety audits, unit reporting accuracy, and accounting accuracy
- Assistance may be required during major storm events
Qualifications:
- Two or four year degree in forestry or related fields is preferred
- One or more years of field related experience
- Species identification skills and invasive species knowledge, plus knowledge of tree growth rates
- ISA Arborist Certification required
- Utility Specialist Certification required
- Fire science/patrol experience a plus
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required
- Ability to work independently
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent customer service skills a priority
- Ability to work in rugged terrain and inclement weather
- Proficient in map navigation skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and data collection software (GIS experience a plus)
