DAVEY RESOURCE GROUP, a Division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, has opportunities in the field of Consulting Forestry, as a CONSULTING UTILITY FORESTER. Davey is a leader in the tree care, utility line clearing and forestry consulting industries, throughout the US and Canada. 

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:  Monterey County, San Benito County, Santa Cruz County - California

 

Job Duties:

Working with major gas utility system forestry needs, inspecting and assessing vegetation in the right-of-ways. Inspect ROW for utility for compliance standards; Identify tree and brush control work, provide restoration and replanting recommendations; Document work using hand-held computer; Assessment of terrain, habitat, environmental conditions, Creation of IVM projects, Management of IVM projects, Vegetation crews. Travel throughout the south Bay Area, central coast, central valley of California.

Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS: Residency in one of the counties listed above. ISA Certified Arborist, Positive Attitude, team-player; Excellent communication skills; proficient in Microsoft office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. GIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Pro, Adobe Acrobat, Cloud based drives. Arborist report writing skills, Flexible work schedule & willingness to travel; Interest in working overtime hours.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two or Four year degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Horticulture or related discipline; ISA Utility Specialist; Qualified Applicators License (QAL), Pest Control Advisor (PCA), Registered Professional Forester (RPF), ISA TRACE or TRAQ certified. Utility Right-of-Way Vegetation experience preferred; Ability to identify local tree species. Landscape design, restoration, estimating, and maintenance. Excellent communication skills; Critical attention to detail; Organizational skills; Working knowledge of computers and programs, file creation, manipulation and sharing. Ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather; Ability to read and follow maps; Ability to work independently; Availability and desire to travel; Ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle. Specific task training provided. Leadership experience and a desire for career growth will be given a priority. Clean DMV driving record.

Full time hourly positions. Pay Rates based on qualifications and experience.
