Templin Forestry, Inc. , 2022 North MacArthur Drive, Alexandria, Louisiana 71303, is a forestry consulting forestry firm that offers comprehensive forest management services to landowners throughout Louisiana. We have a salaried position available immediately for a full time, permanent consulting forester/analyst.
Requirements:
B.S. required in Forestry or related field. M.S. or M.B.A. preferred. Knowledge of computer software, with emphasis in ArcMap, Excel, Access and Word. Utilization of other software programs such as T-Cruise and SiMS, and other growth and yield programs a plus. Must be familiar/have experience estimating timber and related fieldwork associated with timber sale administration. Must be able to work with others and be highly motivated.
Job Duties:
All aspects of consulting forestry services. Primary focus is to maintain and develop systems of organizing and tracking work flow, contracts, client data, silvicultural treatments and recommendations, and appraisal data. The job will include writing forest management plans and appraisal reports. Contract administration will be a part of the job. Various fieldwork projects such as timber cruising, timber harvesting inspections, and tree planting supervision will be required from time to time.
