Reporting Structure
This role reports to the Manager of Commodity Sales

Position Description
The Commodity Lumber sales person will be a highly motivated individual that is responsible for the implementation of targeted and strategic sales initiatives and marketing of lumber products in North America. The successful candidate will work amongst a high performing, dynamic team and have a strong commitment to customer service. 

Major Duties:

• Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales targets with key strategic customers.
• Responsive to customers’ needs and follow through on all aspects of request, both written and verbal.
• Promotion of wood products through outgoing calls and follow-up.
• Actively communicate customer demand and trends daily amongst the marketing team.
• Direct liaison with sales/production coordinators to ensure order files are maintained.
• Ability to create and conduct proposal presentations internally and externally with customers.
• Active participation in sales meetings, trade shows and special projects.

Requirements and Qualifications

The successful candidate will bring the following experience and expertise:

• Proven track record for building exceptional customer relationships in the wood products commodity market.
• A degree or technical diploma – preferable in Wood Products or Sales and Marketing.
• 5-7 years min. sales and marketing and distribution experience.
• Well organized, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills, able to set priorities and responsive to customer needs.
• Demonstrated ability to execute results against strategy and meeting deadlines
• Detailed product knowledge and product understanding to persuade a customer to purchase lumber products.
• Self-motivation and ability to undertake new challenges.

Compensation
90-100k base plus bonus
