Our client is a well established company that has been extremely successful in its market niche for many years. They are expanding and require the services of a motivated and seasoned CFO to assume leadership responsibilities and work closely with the management team in developing and implementing financial strategic direction and focus in the years ahead.
This position has arisen due to the retirement of a respected and key financial person – who will continue in the role to provide an orderly successful transition.
Our client needs a person, who should be a designated CPA (CA or CGA or CMA) that can “think out of the box” but is not afraid, on occasion, to roll up their sleeves to ensure that they have a complete understanding of how their complex business works.
Our client has several key business segments that, generally, revolve around the forestry business but also include some interesting ancillary businesses.
This role will be what you make of it but will include financial and tax planning, extensive analysis, report preparation, planning for cross border transactions, examining and improving internal controls and the limitation of risk, budgeting, cash flow and treasury issues, liaison with outside accountants and bankers, assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of managerial accounting, assisting with analyzing potential acquisitions/joint ventures and acting as the key financial resource in their growing organization.
Forestry experience would be helpful but is not mandatory.
