About The Role:

 

  • Work for an Emerging Innovative Carbon Company
  • The position is fly-in fly-out of Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne (Company vehicle to be provided for work-use to and from work site)
  • Manage and Develop Carbon Projects

 

The Carbon Farming Project Manager will be responsible for managing and developing early-stage carbon farming projects in western NSW and Queensland.

This is a 6 month fixed-contract (with potential for longer-term role and progression within the company)

Duties And Responsibilities:

 

  • Liaising with landholders to answer any queries relating to carbon farming projects
  • Conduct feasibility studies on behalf of the landholders
  • Undertake ongoing business development roles for Select Carbon as required
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, including government departments such as Western Lands and the Clean Energy Regulator
  • Carry out Select Carbon's monitoring activities on all projects through regular field visits and in accordance with methodology requirements
  • Manage ongoing compliance with specific methodologies and stay up to date with all CER correspondence including any regulatory guidance
  • Uphold Select Carbon's strong values on OH&S and environmental awareness

 

Skills and Experience:

 

  • Utilise your knowledge of carbon farming and project development
  • Tertiary education in Forest Science, Environmental Science, Engineering or Economics is preferable
  • Experience in carbon project development including a proficiency in writing Offsets Reports and conducting abatement calculations (preferable)
  • Strong knowledge of climate change policy. Particularly local policy relating to the Emission Reduction Fund and ongoing development of Australia's emission target strategy
  • Excellent understanding of existing sequestration methodologies under the ERF
  • Ability to work independently in remote areas for extended periods of time in addition to working in small teams from time to time
  • Drivers License with 4WD experience and basic mechanical skills an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly and outgoing demeanour.
