Area Procurement Forester (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

J.M. Huber Corporation provides a broad range of industries with innovative products and services. We are experiencing growth within our Huber Engineered Woods LLC (HEW) Division which provides value-added specialty OSB products that help the performance of consumer and industrial products. Our HEW Division currently has an excellent opportunity for a Area Procurement Forester at our Commerce, GA, facility located about 30 minutes from Athens, Georgia.

• Work closely with the Wood Procurement Manager on wood procurement strategy and policies.
• Assist the Wood Procurement Manager with wood payments.
• Maintain working relationship with landowners to insure wood availability.
• Contact contractors and suppliers concerning delivery schedules.
• Assist the Wood Procurement Manager and various suppliers in cruising, evaluating wood value, and supervising cutting and merchandising of miscellaneous wood products.
• Maintain knowledge of harvesting and delivery cost. Work with accounting on inventory methods and wood cost.
• Assist the Wood Procurement Manager and act in his/her absence in the supervision and monitoring of wood receiving, inspection and wood yard operation.

We are seeking a highly motivated and assertive individual who is seeking a long term career in Wood Procurement with further advancement with a growing, profitable company.

Successful candidate will have a B.S. degree in Forestry or related field and 3- 5 years wood purchasing experience preferred. Knowledge in wood hauling, delivery, receiving, wood inspections, scaling, wood inventory and payment systems. GPS (global position system) knowledge a plus. Computer skills are required.
