Dougherty & Dougherty Forestry Services, Inc. (DDFSI) is looking to fill a forest management position in Eastern North Carolina. Applications for this position are currently being accepted. Job candidates should possess a minimum of an associates or bachelor’s degree in forest management or closely related field. Job applicants must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, a teamwork mentality, and a focus on quality. Experience in forestland management of 4+ years is required. Experience in GIS-GPS application is required.

The chosen applicant will communicate and work with existing clients to meet stated forest management objectives, as well as work to acquire additional clients in the region. To do so proficiently, knowledge of loblolly pine plantation silviculture as well as natural hardwood management systems is required. Preparation of professional reports to include forest management plans, reforestation plans, inventory summaries, timber appraisals, and property inspection reports will be a major portion of the job. Out-of-town travel will be required (expenses paid) and working conditions will include varied weather and understory conditions.

The chosen applicant will be required to manage forest technicians on a daily basis. Supervisory experience will be considered a plus. Professional licenses to include NC and SC real estate licenses, herbicide applicator or consultant licenses, and registered forester licenses are considered positive. The salary range for this position will be $37,500 to $52,000/year. Actual offered compensation to a particular candidate will be based on experience and education level. Additional benefits include a paid holiday and vacation schedule and participation in a group health care plan.

DDFSI is a full-time forestry consulting firm established in 1995. DDFSI’s corporate office is located near Athens, GA. DDFSI is focused on promoting and practicing "Progressive Forestry on Private Land™" and
provides consulting and research services to private and institutional forest landowners in the SE US.

Compensation

The salary range for this position will be $37,500 to $52,000/year. Actual offered compensation to a particular candidate will be based on experience and education level. Additional benefits include a paid holiday and vacation schedule and participation in a group health care plan.
