The Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, LTD has opportunities in the field of Urban Forestry, as Arborists, working as Crew Climber/Trimmer. Davey is a leader in the Residential-Commercial tree care, utility line clearing and forestry consulting industries, throughout the US and Canada.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE: Victoria, BC Filling Two Positions
Positions are local and do not involve overnight or out of town assignements.
JOB DUTIES:
Outdoor Positions involve: proper identification of plants, providing expert tree surgery services; evaluations & inspections of customer trees/plants and growing conditions. Responsible for climbing, pruning, planting and removing trees or shrubs on residential and commercial properties; installing cables, bracing, lightening protection; expert completion of customer job orders. Positions require climbing, lifting, bending and dexterity. Occasionaly requires handling chemicals--fertilizers, fungicides, pesticides.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma. Minimum of Two-Three years arborist experience. Climbing experience without spurs, knowledge of knots, chainsaw operation, bucket truck experience helpful. ISA Certified Arborist, CDL, strong tree ID skills, installation experience of cables, bracing and lightening protection. Knowledge of and experience with equipment maintenance, customer service, safe working procedures are all a must. Experience in crew management & training--valuable but not required.
