Analyst (Forestry, Logging & Mill Operations)

Indufor North America provides sustainability strategy and international development consulting services to public and private sector clients with a focus on forestry and natural resources management. Indufor North America is the newest company in the Indufor Group, which has a 35-year history of providing substantive, high-quality consulting services to the forest products industry, investment community and development organizations. We are currently recruiting to fill an Analyst position based in Washington, DC to begin in early 2016.

The Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Performing consulting services for public and private sector clients, including:
    • qualitative and quantitative analysis related to forest industry, governance and policy
    • field work in rural areas including data collection, project design, and program evaluation
    • succinct report writing and presentation
  • Preparing project proposals, budgets and team work plans
  • Meeting project deadlines and communicating project progress to supervisors in a timely manner
  • Contributing to the public image of Indufor North America, which could include delivering public presentations and drafting communications material
  • Other tasks identified by the Managing Director

Minimum qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in forestry, economics or business with four years’ work experience or a Graduate degree with two years’ work experience
  • Prior experience with research and report drafting on topics related to forestry, natural resource management, climate change, or responsible investment
  • Fluency in English and working knowledge of at least one other language, preferably Spanish or French.
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Work or study experience in developing economies

Preferred characteristics:

  • Previous consulting experience with track-record of rigorous analytical work
  • Working knowledge of statistics with statistical software experience (including SAS, STATA, etc.)
  • Ability to quickly analyze problems and develop frameworks to solve them
  • Flexibility to grow with a new company
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with clients and colleagues around the world.
