Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk (Accounting & Finance)

Our client, a large forestry and timber management company is seeing an independent self-starter to join its Finance Department.

Based in New Westminster the client is a stable industry leader with a solid long-term track record. As an integral member of the finance team, you will be responsible for managing the full accounts payable cycle as well as the accounts receivable function. 

Responsibilities

- Ownership of the accounts payable process which includes coding invoices, obtaining appropriate approvals, and entering invoices into the accounting system
- Ownership of the accounts receivable function which includes posting and receiving payment
- Preparing cheque runs and ad-hoc payment requests
- Responding to supplier enquiries
- Maintaining detailed and organized invoice files
- Reviewing and processing expense reports
- Processing journal entries
- Assisting with month end accruals
- Other duties, as required such as assisting other accounting staff (filing, data entry, documents research...)

Qualifications & Requirements

- Accounting diploma and/or 2 years accounts payable or related accounting experience
- Detail oriented and able to meet very tight deadlines
- Ability to show diplomacy and well-mannered approaches in communication
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Strong aptitude in positive relationship building with co-workers
- Customer service oriented
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Person meticulous with attention to details
- Aptitude in working in a fast pace business environment
