WOODLANDS MANAGER
Terms of Employment: Full time
Employment Requirements:
- Must have recognized forestry training and/or experience or equivalent combination thereof. A university degree in Forestry with Registered Professional Forester (RPF) status or eligibility is an asset but not required.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in forest operations and management
- Intimate knowledge of timber harvesting, processing and hauling operations
- Experience with contract negotiations for logging related services and sale of timber
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize task and time
- Strong budgetary, forecasting and cost management capabilities
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
- Clear understanding of the legislative requirements affecting forest management in BC and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Ability to listen and understand information and ideas and combine pieces of information to form general conclusions and provide management direction
- Computer knowledge and skills such as Microsoft Office
- Experience with SFI and ISO 14001 certification programs is beneficial
- Proven ability building strong relationships with contractors, communities, First Nations and government agencies
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement change
