 JOB TITLE:            Woodlands Manager

Pacific BioEnergy is a private company established in 1994 with corporate offices in Vancouver, BC and operations in Prince George, Quesnel and Chetwynd/Fort St. John, BC. 

Pacific BioEnergy Timber Corporation (“PBTC”), is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific BioEnergy Corporation (“PBEC”). PBTC holds several million cubic meters of NRFL and RFL licences in the Quesnel and Kispiox TSA’s, manages a 200,000 TPA Biomass Pre-Processing Facility (“BPPF” – whole log chipping facility), in Quesnel, and owns a significant interest in a forestry related joint venture with a Quesnel based 1st Nations partnership. PBTC also markets and trades logs, sawmill residuals and forest residuals.

PBEC and its subsidiaries and affiliates are leaders and pioneers in wood pellet and biomass utilization in North America and are committed to meeting growing worldwide demand for biomass clean energy and more efficient use of forestry resources.

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a Woodlands Manager with strong business management capabilities to directly conduct all matters relating to and grow our forestry related business interests in the Quesnel, Prince George and Williams Lake regions.

Reporting to the President of PBTC, the Woodlands Manager will be responsible for a safe, profitable and environmentally sustainable operation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 ·      Manage, maintain, and negotiate all relationships involved with the 200,000 TPA BPPF;

·      Actively participate at a senior level in a safe, healthy and progressive corporate environment;

 ·      Manage all woodlands activities relating to the 700,000 m3 AAC licences in Quesnel and the 88,000 m3 AAC licence in the Kispiox TSA’s as well as existing and “special licence tenures” that may be acquired;

 ·     Develop and implement the corporate engagement strategy to maintain and enhance a strong, long-term partnership with our First Nations business partners;

 ·     Develop, maintain and expand our customer/supplier relationships;

   ·    Provide forest policy expertise and operational experience to support  PBTC  government and business relationships and activities; and

 ·      Under the direction of the PBTC President develop, assess and execute growth strategies in the PBTC markets and operational activities;

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

·      Degree or Diploma in Forestry with a minimum of 10 years related experience;

 ·     Membership in the ABCFP would be considered an asset;

 ·     Ability to work independently managing a flexible schedule with some travel requirements;

 ·      Experience in managing plan development, budgeting and forecasting;

 ·      Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills;

 ·      Demonstrated ability for building strong relationships with contractors, First Nations and communities, government agencies, customers;

 ·      Solid knowledge and experience in the forest tenure system, as well as, harvesting and logistics operations; and

 ·      Demonstrated leadership, teamwork driven, detail focused and results orientated.
