Wood Procurement Forester I (Forester)

The Huber Engineered Woods Spring City, Tennessee facility is seeking a high energy applicant for a Wood Procurement Forester I position. This individual will assist the Wood Procurement Manager in the purchase of the required quality and quantity of wood required to sustain the operational capacity of the Spring City, Tennessee Engineered Woods plant. The individual will also contribute to the development, organization, implementation and administration of a wood procurement program to ensure the long-term sustainability of the forest resources.

Qualified candidates must have a BS in Forest Management from an SAF Accredited Forestry School and 3-5 years of related experience. A Master’s Degree in Forestry may count for 1 year of required experience.

The successful candidate must possess knowledge in timber cruising and evaluation; wood harvest planning, supervision, and delivery; receiving; inspection; scaling; inventory; and payment systems. Knowledge and proficiency in GIS systems is strongly desired. Candidates must demonstrate qualifying criteria: safety consciousness, leadership skills, communication skills (presentation, written, oral), organizational skills, coaching skills, people skills, strong work ethic, motivator, willingness to learn.

The candidate must have either a Registered Forester or Certified Forester designation or achieve that certification within two (2) years of employment.
