Job Description:

Continued growth in Stafford's Timberland business has resulted in the creation of a new Vice President position based in Austin, TX, and reporting to the Partner, Portfolio Management, located in Sydney, Australia. This high profile role will have primary responsibility for understanding the product markets and operations of all Stafford fund investments in the US and working with Stafford’s asset 
   managers to enhance performance. The role will also contribute to US and global timber market analysis, transaction trend monitoring and due diligence on new investments. 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have: 
   - 8+ years of experience in the US timberland industry, including direct timberland management experience in areas of silviculture, log sales and / or planning, preferably across multiple US timberland regions. Further experience in REIT or TIMO roles would also be viewed favorably; 
   - An undergraduate university degree in forestry, economics, finance or related disciplines, with a post graduate degree viewed favorably; 
   - Ability to communicate with all levels in industry, from in-forest contractors through to senior executives, both in person, and in written and presentation formats; 
   - Strong understanding of timberland industry operating budgets and appraisal methods. The ability to benchmark material items and develop independent forecasts and cashflows; 
   - Knowledge of timberland ownership structures; and 
   - Strong knowledge of, and ability to promote, ESG principles. 

Miscellaneous:

 - Must be comfortable working as part of a growing team within a dynamic, international company; 
   - Strong capacity to work independently to progress tasks from an early stage to end-point; 
   - Ability to proactively contribute to internal discussions and convey key trends to colleagues, managers, clients and client advisors; and 
   - Willingness to undertake regular domestic and occasional international travel, and take inter-office calls outside of normal business hours to allow for varying time zones.
