As a private company with a 160 year history in wood products and forestry, Collins seeks a candidate to fill an executive level position, organizing and leading the Marketing and Sales effort in all product lines, i.e., Softwood and Hardwood lumber, Hardboard siding/trim, Particleboard, and specialty products from Pacific Albus and Alder. Position also supports and promotes sustainable and FSC certified wood products. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Set strategic goals for each product line and adjust annually with the input of the Management Team and Sales Team 
  • Produce Strategic Plan updates annually including forecasts for all product lines 
  • Manage Marketing and Advertising functions
  •  Align strategic goals and brand image with corporate culture 
  • Manage credit process with Accounting 
  • Develop sales team – individually and collectively 
  • Visit mills to help with communication of market intelligence; provide data to Operations teams as needed to assist with their communication efforts

Position Requirements

  • Degree in Business Management, Marketing or Wood Science 
  • Ten years of marketing, sales or operations experience in multiple product lines in the wood products industry, including responsibility for high revenue product lines 
  • Proven top management Sales and Marketing success 
  • Proven strong leadership and organizational skills 
  • Proven strategic planning experience 
  • Ability to work within a collaborative organization structure 
  • Ability to work in an intense, fluid environment
  • Ability to meet high travel demands 
  • Proven ability to manage, coach and lead a diverse and geographically spaced team 
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
