Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI) is seeking a mid-level (or senior) candidate to be trained and mentored by a nationally recognized senior tree preservation expert and related skilled technical and management staff.

Candidate should be experienced with performing specimen tree assessments (CTLA or TRAQ); reviewing civil, architectural, and landscape architecture plans, details, and specifications for conflicts with trees; and performing forest stand delineations/EVAs.

The ideal candidate will possess the skills to work closely with design and construction management teams; prepare tree preservation plans, specifications, and details; prepare educational power points and workshops, proposals and marketing pieces; and other related technical skills regarding arboriculture and urban forestry.

Background in urban forestry or landscape architecture is necessary, with strong knowledge of/experience of the following: arboriculture, tree preservation, tree root patterns and morphology, large tree transplanting, and forest and landscape plant identification (including trees/shrubs).

Familiarity with the following is preferred: land clearing, site work, residential and commercial construction and renovations, campus, monument and historic sites, corporate, and underground utilities construction.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess ISA Certified Arborist credential and have some GIS and/or CAD experience.

Knowledge of the ecology of the Mid-Atlantic both natives and invasive species, and an interest in working both indoors and outdoors in varying terrain is required.

Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors highly desirable, with a willingness to travel regionally.

On the job training will be provided by senior staff along with periodic workshops and classes. BS in forestry, landscape architecture, or closely related field is required.
