Job Requirements:

Language: English

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate; First Aid Certificate

Equipment and Machinery Experience: Treelength forwarder; Shortwood harvester

Experience an asset

Additional Skills: Clean up landing areas at logging sites; Assist other logging and forestry workers

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Type of Logging: Clear cutting (patch logging)

Type of Harvesting: Pulpwood harvesting; Logs and poles

Security and Safety: Driver's validity licence check

Own Tools/Equipment: Safety equipment/gear; Steel-toed safety boots; Hard hat; Safety glasses/goggles; Gloves

Work Site Environment: Dangerous; Outdoors; Noisy

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation; Valid driver's licence

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail; Hand-eye co-ordination

Work Location: Rural area; Remote location

Mechanical Harvester and Forwarder Operators Specific Skills: Assess site and terrain and drive heavy equipment to perform a combination of felling, slashing, bucking, bunching and forwarding operations 

Compensation

$16.00 to $20.00 hourly for 50 hours per week
