Harbourview Tree Experts is currently looking for an experienced Tree Climber/Arborist to work in the Greater Victoria/Saanich Peninsula region.

We have a full time TREE CLIMBER position available for an individual with a strong work ethic who is able to work independently, enjoys learning new skills, and likes working outdoors.

We are located in Brentwood Bay, B.C. and are an established company with a reputation for excellent customer service and quality workmanship. Worksites range from residential to commercial properties. We do everything from large, complicated removals to pruning and hedge work.
  
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

Tree Climber is a skilled position responsible for tree maintenance, pruning and removals on residential and commercial properties using ropes, harness, saddle, and power saws. 

• Daily inspection of all personal climbing and safety equipment including ropes, saddle and personal protective equipment. ·    
• Assistance with lowering limbs, chipping brush and cleanup.
• Operation and basic maintenance of chippers, chain saws, blowers, and various hand tools.
• Communication with clients.
• Ability to work in a team environment where communication skills are essential.
• Ability to perform strenuous manual work in all weather conditions.
• Attention to detail is critical to maintain high quality of care.
• Knowledge and execution of proper pruning per ISA standards.
• Must be capable of climbing any size tree and removing, pruning, thinning, and reducing with use of proper climbing techniques in accordance with industry standards.
• Experience removing large trees with a crane is useful.

You Must Have:
• A minimum 3 years experience as a Tree Climber.
• A valid drivers license.
• Your own reliable transportation.
• Leadership skills: you will be expected to "run" the job sites and complete work in a professional, accurate, timely and safe manner.
• An excellent work ethic, willing to work in all weather, EVERY day.
• We have a zero substance abuse policy. You are expected to show up prepared for work every day on time.

Ideally You Will Have (is not required):
• a current first aid certificate.
• industry certifications and/or the desire to attain them such as ISA Certified Tree Climber or ISA Certified Arborist, etc.

Compensation

Pay is based on experience and ability but ranges from $22-$28 per hour for a climber, and $30+ for someone who proves they can take on the role of foreman.
