Our client, is a world leader in the Pulp and Fibre Industry, with dissolving-pulp manufacturing mills located in Eastern Canada, and around the world.

Technical Manager

Role Overview

The successful candidate is responsible for process engineering & quality assurance aspects of the mill and will support the mill operation by aligning technical and laboratory resources to improve wood yield, pulp quality and energy/chemical cost reduction. This is a key position in the organization directly reporting to the VP & COO. 

Key Job Responsibilities Include:

• Manage technical support and services.
• Provide process engineering services to the projects.
• Process monitoring and data analysis to identify opportunities to improve productivity, pulp quality and cost reduction.
• Support customer service activities especially those related to pulp quality.
• Participate in troubleshooting of process, environmental and operational issues.
• Resource planning and people management.
• Ensure legal compliance with policies and procedures.
• Any other responsibilities assigned by the mill manager.

Employment Qualifications:

• University degree in Chemical Engineering with eligibility for registration with provincial professional engineering association.
• 10-15 year of industrial experience with 3-5 years in a managerial position.
• Experience in a pulp or process industry would be considered an asset.
