Position Responsibilities

Thompson River Veneer Products Ltd is seeking an individual to take on the role of Shift Supervisor. The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the safe production of all products while maintaining company objectives for all quality attributes. Supervising a crew of 28-30 employees, the successful applicant will: manage safety first, provide effective leadership, ensure quality and productivity targets are achieved, ensure training is ongoing and provide performance tracking for all employees on the designated shift.

Position Requirements

Supervisor experience is a fundamental need for the position and a knowledge of veneer based wood products is preferred. The successful candidate will possess a good knowledge of Work Safe BC regulations, have worked a minimum of 3 years in a supervisor function, have strong leadership and organizational skills and possess the necessary interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work in a team focused setting.

The Company

Thompson River Veneer Products Ltd. manufactures various grades of dry softwood veneer and structural plywood for customers in Canada, the U.S. and Japan. Produced primarily from the tree species Douglas Fir and Engleman Spruce at the Kamloops' operation, TRVP supplies the Hardwood plywood, Engineered Wood Product, Overlay and Structural plywood segments with dry veneer and plywood.

Established in 2004 and built as a greenfield operation in 2005-2006, Thompson River Veneer has grown to a full shift operation with an employee base of 85 in management, maintenance and operations.
