Stewardship Forester - Prince George, BC

Ensuring the sustainable use of British Columbia’s forests and upkeep of Carrier’s environmental values, the Stewardship Forester is an integral part of the Carrier forestry team. You will assist with the development, monitoring and evaluation of forest management standards, strategies and management practices.

As the Stewardship Forester, you will be responsible for all maintenance and upkeep on the existing SFI Certification system, as well as execution of all silviculture requirements for the entirety of Carrier Lumber’s British Columbia operations. Assisting with the review of strategic and operational plans, you will develop operational goals that comply with the Forest Act, Forest and Range Practices Act, and other relevant legislation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Stewardship Forester will be a results-oriented individual with a focus on accuracy and reliability. A self-starter, your excellent organizational and communications skills will make you an invaluable part of a tight-knit team of forestry professionals. Your experience with all aspects of certification and fluency with technology make you a prepared employee.

Required employment qualifications:

• Registered Professional Forester / Registered Professional Forestry Technician designation
• Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience
• Knowledgeable in current forest legislation

Preference may be given to those experienced with:

• Supervisial experience
• Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
