Our client is an exciting and innovative pulp and paper company that is backed by a world class US $40 billion corporation.

Using an entrepreneurial approach, provide coaching to business leaders on Six Sigma methodology and tools for continuous improvement and quality projects within the mill, optimizing the processes involved in projects and maintenance services in the most cost-effective manner, while ensuring that these processes adhere to regulations and environmental guidelines. 

Responsibilities include:

•       Providing coaching to the group on Six Sigma methodology and tools.

•       Understanding and supporting functional objectives and strategies.

•       Ensure project teams are utilizing the appropriate improvement methodology.

•       Provide high level project plans and ensure deliverables are completed on-time.

•       Research and apply functional best practices within project scope.

•       Enhance the sustainability of implementation through application of change management and building pragmatic control plans.

•       Conduct statistical analyses.

•       Is able to build strong teams and work collaboratively with peers while holding people accountable for their work.

•       Ensure compliance with all safety/environmental legislation, Promote and provide a safe workplace, and ensure corrective action is taken as required.

Qualifications:

•       Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or equivalent).

•       Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification.

•       Related Experience: Minimum 5-10 years Black Belt experience in Continuous Improvement Initiative with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.

•       Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization and leadership skills are essential. (verbal/written).

•       Experience in leading complex projects that require strong leadership, initiative, and change management would be an asset.

•       Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Minitab.
