JOB DESCRIPTION

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, one of the top employers in Alberta, to recruit for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Whitecourt, Alberta.

THE ROLE

• While applying your engineering skills to all areas of the mill, this role is responsible for structural design, pump and piping throughout the mill.
• Coordination and completion of mechanical projects in a safe and efficient manner.
• Root cause analysis and designing for reliability and increased production capacity will be a large focus of the role.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• 7+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or pulp & paper setting
• Must be eligible for an APEGA membership as a Professional Engineer
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required as well as experience working with contractors and field installations
• Experience in the mechanical maintenance of a mill would be considered an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
