Senior Forest Ecologist required for a private sector position of leadership and influence in the areas of community engagement, research, project planning, mentorship, resource management, and ecological maintenance.
Shift Times:
- 4 day work week – Monday – Thursday – 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Some Friday or overtime work time may be required.
Salary & Benefits:
- $78,000 to $100,000, depending on experience

Responsibilities:
- Reporting to Superintendent, working with one junior team member to conduct required ecological management and research
- Providing leadership to the Woodlands Dept. in land stewardship, planning, research, and appropriate application of research
- Liaising with other teams to provide clear direction toward organizational goals
- Lead communication with PR team as well as local communities, universities, and area schools
- Minimal field time required for this senior position
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities Requirements:
- Minimum: Bachelors degree – forestry, environmental studies, etc.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a forester/ecologist capacity, 5 years preferable
- RPF designation or ability to acquire RPF within 1 year an asset
- Project planning experience, use of Microsoft Suite
- Class 5 Drivers License
