Port Blakely - Seattle, WA seeks a Senior Director of Corporate Strategy to provide collaborative leadership and program management support in the development and execution of strategic initiatives at both the operating division and corporate level. As a member of the Company’s executive team, this position is a critical facilitator and driver of near and long term growth opportunities for Port Blakely.  Through a combination of hands-on responsibilities, coordinating, collaborating, influencing and driving strategic initiatives, this position will be the focal point of our progress in achieving our long term strategic initiative goals. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the senior leadership team to develop and execute Port Blakely’s global long-term growth strategy.
  • Leading, guiding and/or participating in cross-functional and/or special project teams across the company to execute strategic initiatives that drive long term growth.
  • Assessing the potential for entering new markets and/or new geographies with existing business model or developing complementary products or models that will allow for expansive growth.
  • Develop written reports and presentations for stakeholders (owners, board members, employees) that provide comprehensive updates on strategic initiatives.
  • Attending Board of Directors’ meetings  and annual shareholder meeting to present strategic updates as needed.
  • Working with the CFO and Finance team to establish processes and metrics (both financial and non-financial) that define success in the implementation of the Company’s strategic initiatives.
  • Monitoring trends associated with the forestry industry, sharing those with stakeholders and sparking ideas for growth.

Successful candidates will have:

  • At least 8 to 10 years of demonstrably successful experience as a senior leader in corporate development and strategy roles of increasing responsibility is preferred.
  • A Masters Degree (MA/MS/MBA) in finance, business or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education is required.
  • Previous experience with and understanding of the forest products, forestry and related businesses is preferred.
  • Prior experience with taking companies through growth strategies requiring partnerships, joint ventures or other creative deal structures is preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in developing and leading a professional team in a collaborative, action-oriented environment in which the free exchange of ideas and information is encouraged, expected and rewarded.
  • Regulatory and/or environmental experience is preferred.
