Sawmill Worker / Equipment Operator Vacancy

Timberspan Wood Products is primarily a custom sawmill specializing in Douglas Fir and produces a variety of wood products. Being a custom sawmill, we often superimpose additional criteria that we develop with the customer to meet the requirements of their project. Timberspan is a dynamic player in British Columbia Wood Manufacturing Industry. Timberspan is located at 12555 Willow Cale Forest Road in Prince George, BCR Industrial Park.

We are looking for individuals with experience with equipment operation, machinery, construction, lumber yards / sawmills. Must be willing to work hard in all weather conditions. Safety and team working are paramount. Good communication skills and ability to take direction and work as part of a productive team are essential. Timberspan team works hard in a beautiful setting with a positive team. The work environment is very supportive with the opportunity to grow with the company.

We are looking for individuals that can function effectively at the Sawmill with the following activities:

• Operate forklift, sawmill, edger, wood chipper

• Load and unload logs and material from trucks

• Stack and palletize processed material

• Cut and Grade lumber

• Prepare orders to ship

• Operate chainsaw

• Feed and remove logs from sawmill

• Use small hand tools

• Housekeeping of yard, clean up debris and sawdust

• Advise owner of shop supply inventories

• Borax, prepare and seal logs

• Perform pre-use safety checks on equipment and tools

• Fuel and maintain in good condition equipment and tools

• Attend safety and training meetings

• Follow safety procedures and properly use safety equipment

• Any other duties and task as requested

• Must have a valid BC driver’s license

• Must have valid First Aid Ticket, Forklift Ticket etc.
