MacKenzie Sawmill Ltd. is seeking a permanent Full-Time Saw Filer. 

In operation for 40 years plus, MacKenzie’s wood products are sold both domestically and internationally.  Newly improved and centrally located on the Fraser River in Surrey BC, MacKenzie has the potential for its team members to prosper in their careers.

Job Description
The role of a Saw Filer at MacKenzie entails recognizing problems with various saws in the Sawmill and having them fixed in an efficient manner.  Working in a demanding, high paced production environment, Saw Filers are responsible for providing the safe operation of saw sharpening equipment, benching, and tensioning circular saws.  A Saw Filer’s role is crucial in the efficient production of a sawmill.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
• Required education includes having a recognized trades Benchman certification with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the lumber manufacturing industry.
• Must be proficient in benching and maintaining saws in a high paced production environment.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment without compromise.
• Recognize problems and have them corrected immediately.
• Understand the importance of teamwork and have a positive impact on the team.
• Open-minded, responsive to changes and improvements.
• Able to communicate effectively with your team and other departments.

Compensation

$50.00/Hourly

Competitive compensation offered with extended medical.
