Our sawmill boasts the most state of the art equipment and technology for processing small diameter sawlogs in Australia.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional, with strong leadership and system implementation skills, who has proven experience in the Timber Industry or similar Manufacturing Environment, to join the NF McDonnell & Sons team.

This position is responsible and accountable for, but not limited to, the following tasks:
• Contribute to the provision of a safe and efficient Sawmilling operation
• Conduct effective supervision of staff
• Ensure product quality standards are maintained at all times
• Contribute to the effective management of equipment
• Ensure technology is utilised in a way that improves decision making and productivity
• Contribute to the minimisation of downtime and continuous improvement
• Responsible for the financial management of all Sawmilling functions
• Actively contribute to a workplace culture where WH&S is given the highest priority in all activities
• Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and congenial working environment

Key Essential Competencies:
• Ability to set and communicate appropriate targets for operational staff and management.
• Ability to implement and analyse shift reporting systems that are timely, relevant, accurate, and demand accountability from all operational staff and management.
• High levels of flexibility, initiative and willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks.
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of communication skills including listening, verbal and written.
• Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, plan and organise workloads, and achieve specified outcomes within a limited timeframe.

• Ability to think analytically to identify problems and provide a solution.
• Ability to work without close supervision and recognising times when matters require referral to the Management Team.

This is a full-time position (subject to successfully completing a probation period) based on a 45-hour week Monday –  Friday. Some out of hours' work may be required. 

Compensation

Salary package is negotiable depending on qualification and experience.
