The Sawmill Electrical Engineer will be responsible for having a strong understanding of industrial plant processes and equipment. 

Responsibilities:

• Evaluating electrical systems and applications by designing and conducting field research
• Applying knowledge of equipment and company installation practices
• Developing electrical drawings by studying customer and equipment requirements
• Providing engineering information by answering questions and requests
• Maintaining product and company reputations by complying with federal and state regulations
• Assisting the team with preliminary and detail design tasks
• Preparing quantity and construction cost estimates
• Assisting in developing engineering specifications
• Problem solving
• Ensuring projects meet electrical safety regulations
• Investigating technical problems
• Identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
• Assisting with the implementation of new standards aimed at increasing productivity and safety through solid modeling best practices, drawing standards, release procedures, and regulatory audits
• Performing all other related tasks that will help accomplish the project

NOTE: Fieldwork and travel is required 30 – 40% of worktime

Training & Skill Set:

• Electrical Engineering college degree
• PE or ability to obtain PE licensing.
• Proficient with AutoCAD
• Thorough understanding of applicable electrical codes
• Knowledge of the construction industry
• Sawmill experience would be an asset
• 10+ years of Engineering experience in industrial and construction fields
• Computer skills needed (MS Office)
• Experience designing and specifying Power Distribution equipment and Motor Control Centers
• Exemplary communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high speed environment
• Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality
• Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
• Self-motivation – Taking initiative to make improvements while striving to perform
• Prioritizing skills to manage a multitude of tasks to ensure deadlines are met
