Locate, establish and re-establish permanent forest plots using specialized forestry tools; collect and download forest resource data in digital format using computerized field data recorders and computers; conduct measurement and re-measurement procedures on various forest biota; identify various types of forest vegetation using common and scientific names.

Two or four year degree in Forestry, Ecology, Biology or a related field and two years of experience establishing and re-measuring FIA plots is required.

Candidate must be able to hike long distances in all weather conditions in steep terrain and must be able to navigate using map, compass, GPS, and aerial photographs.

Ability to work on your own is a must.

This is a seasonal postition that will start at the end of April or begining of May.  The projects are located in Montana and Northwest Wyoming.    

We are looking for hard working people that enjoy exploring remote and rugged locations. 

Compensation

Pay is dependent on experience but will be no less than $20/hr.
