Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing pro-active reliability solutions as well as tracking equipment failures and developing solutions that will minimize unplanned equipment downtime. This position is responsible for a variety of duties within the mill including:

• Facilitating area predictive/preventative maintenance program.

• Applying RCFA methodology in daily business and formally document when applicable.

• Taking the lead to develop solutions for repeat failures.

• Assisting in the refinement of essential care routes for mechanical first responders.

• Work closely with the area maintenance supervisors and planners.

• Auditing the existing PM work orders to ensure that the correct tasks are being performed and that the interval is correct for the application. Creating new PM's as needed to maintain a reliable operation.

• Providing oversight and direction to the roll rebuild, machine shop and rebuild crews. Work with the lubrication suppliers and Reliability Supervisor to evaluate current practices and recommend possible improvements.

• Working closely with the Reliability Supervisor and Predictive Maintenance Technicians to evaluate equipment condition via vibration, thermography, oil analysis and alignment data as a basis for reliability improvement recommendations. Assist in optimizing the area vibration monitoring program.

• Ensuring reliability work is less reactionary & time based and more of a condition based maintenance process.

• Applying and expanding new technology and industry learning's toward the work of equipment and process reliability improvement.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or the equivalent training and/or experience.

• MMP and/or CMRP certification also preferred.

• Experience in maintenance/reliability.

• Prior paper machine experience a plus.

• Knowledge of the different aspects of papermaking including stock preparation, coating, finishing and paper machines a plus.

• Ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects and issues.

• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management.

• Previous knowledge of Avantis and Ivara preferred, Microsoft office, MS Outlook e-mail.

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as initiative and the ability to delegate decision making and other responsibilities.
