  Prince George, British Columbia, Canada

Now hiring Registered Forest Technologists and experienced field staff.

Omineca Forest Resource Services Ltd is a forest consulting company that operates out of Prince George in the northern forests of British Columbia. The Companies services are mainly to develop cut blocks for harvesting.  This multi-phase work includes timber reconnaissance, boundary marking, road location and survey, engineered cost estimates, riparian assessment and marking, ecological survey and description, bridge plans, wildlife habitat assessment, and timber cruising.

Living out of RV Travel Trailers or logging camps for up to 10 days at a time, we work in remote locations in the out doors in all weather, including extreme weather from time to time.  The work place can be rugged, brushy, and steep.  In the summer, if it were not for the black flies holding you down, the mosquito's would up and carry you off.  Wild life encounters are common.  We try not to hurt the bears, however the squirrels can be very aggressive.  Driving and walking are the two most common activities for work site access.  ATV's, snowmobiles, helicopters and boats are often used.  The work is physical and can be tough.  People who are successful at this kind of job enjoy the lifestyle, embrace physical and mental challenge and have a love of the out of doors, all year round.
