American Workforce Group has partnered with an Oregon based company to fill 6-10 traveling MILLWRIGHT positions.
Ideal candidates will have previous millwright experience and sawmill or construction experience is preferred but not required. This company manufactures and installs it's own equipment and performs shutdowns. Millwrights will mainly work in the Northwest but occasionally jobs are back East. They are looking for individuals who are pursuing long-term, permanent employment. The candidate will install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in industrial establishments.
Responsibilities
* Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
* Dismantle and move machinery.
* Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors and tram rails.
* Construct foundation for machines using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement and steel.
* Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.
* Assemble machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
Education
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Experience
Between 2 and 5 years
Licenses and Professional Certifications
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record - Required
Other Qualifications
- Minimum three years' experience in Wood Products Industry
- Willingness to travel and commit to extended stay periods for project completion
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends to meet customer deadlines
- Wire-feed Welding is a required skill
- Work at heights without fear

Compensation
Pay is $17-18 per hour. Client will raise quickly for qualified employeesPer Diem $25 per day w/lodging $50 per day without lodging
