Timberlands Pacific is an independently owned forest management company with its main office in Launceston, Tasmania as well as an office in Mount Gambier, South Australia. They provide expertise to manage large plantations forests in Australia and market forest products both domestically and internationally. They have particular expertise in forest management and operations on a significant scale to grow both cash returns and forest value for owners with the systems and resources needed to optimise value. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead all aspects of operational and commercial performance of the business. Your primary focus will be to manage the business to maximise returns to clients. A critical aspect of your role will be to manage risk to the forest assets of clients and ensure the compliance of all operations. Your responsibilities will include developing budgets, forecasting, management reporting and will be done in a timely manner. Developing mutually beneficial customer relationships will be important factor in the continued success of the business. 

As a self-starter with a contemporary leadership style, you will have a continuous improvement mindset that has seen you lift profitability by driving best practice forest management. Your exceptional management skills will promote team cohesiveness, excellent communication and collaboration across the company. You will lead by example by applying existing systems and processes and identifying and implement improvements as required. You will have a track record in instilling a safety, health and environment culture in a dynamic environment.

A first degree in forest science, augmented by a relevant higher degree and 10 plus years of hands-on and management forestry experience will be desirable. Sound understanding of commercial forest management is essential and exposure to best practice forest management would be viewed favorably.
