Reclamation and Silviculture Manager (Silviculture & Reforestation)

CCI Inc. is a leading multi-disciplinary Engineering firm offering services in seven areas of practice: Engineering, Geotechnical, Construction Management, Environmental, Pipeline Integrity, Forestry Planning & Reclamation and Wellpads & Access Roads. We are experts in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and Open-Cut pipeline construction methods. From our inception in 2004, we have established ourselves as a pipeline design specialist in the intricate business of river crossings. 

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and driven professional to join our growing team in the Environmental Division in this full-time position, based out of Cochrane, Alberta. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Report directly to the Operations Manager of the Environmental Division to ensure effective and professional services.
  • Provide continued support to our clients, this will entail going to see the clients at their office.
  • Manage CCI Silviculture and Reclamation services, this will include proposal writing and ensure project roles and responsibilities are well defined and clearly understood.
  • Familiar with all aspects of silviculture management (tree planting supervision, site preparation, stocking and performance surveys, vegetation management etc.).
  • Familiar with pipeline reforestation, caribou mitigation planning etc.
  • Schedule and manage upcoming work and available manpower.
  • Familiar with forestry related acts and regulations.
  • Ability to complete or supervise any required fieldwork (i.e. surveys, block and road layout, etc.) as needed.
  • Developing / Reviewing GDP’s, PHP’s, AOP for small quota holders
  • Involved in Environmental meetings as required. 

Requirements: 

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Discipline mandatory
  • Registered with Alberta Forest Management Professionals (CAPF or CAPFT)
  • 5-10 years of experience in silviculture practices
  • Field experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, ArcGIS
  • Must be extremely organized and be able to prioritize workload
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be a team player
  • Familiar with GPS units (Garmin’s, Recon’s, Trimble units).
  • Valid driver’s license, drivers abstract, defensive driving, vehicle insurance & registration, 4×4 truck, $5 million General Liability, first aid, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance Level II, WHMIS, TDG, Bear Awareness, Pipeline Construction Safety Training, Construction Safety Training Systems and/or Petroleum Safety Training
