IRM is currently recruiting a full time, permanent, salaried Project Manager/Forester to take a lead role in managing projects for our growing company.  This position will be based out of our Philomath, Oregon office, located 10 minutes from Corvallis.  This position will be responsible for managing projects ranging from small to large-scale forest inventory contracts, timber cruising for pre-harvest analysis and appraisals, to laying out and administering restoration oriented timber sales. The work environment will involve 50% in the office analyzing data, report writing and logistics planning, and 50% field work. This is an ideal position for a highly motivated individual interested in stepping into a position with major responsibilities and challenges in a highly respected forestry consulting firm in the PNW.  

The successful candidate will exhibit a wide range of skills necessary to operate in the highly competitive consulting forestry world. This person should have expertise in forest inventory, cruising systems, and logging systems used in the PNW, excellent oral and written skills, be proficient with the full range of forest technology including software used to complete projects, and a working understanding of the range of silvicultural systems used in the PNW, both industrial and alternative. 

Requirements: 

Must have a BS in Forest Management or Forest Engineering with demonstrated coursework in Forest Mensuration and Silviculture and logging systems.

v  Must be experienced and comfortable with the use of ArcMap®, with the ability to conduct spatial analysis and create 

Field experience with ArcPad® preferred. 

Ability to perform field work in a variety of weather and topographic conditions 

A minimum of five years work experience in forestry.  – preferably in forestry consulting. 

Open minded and enthusiastic about taking on new challenges, tasks, and projects. 

Self-motivated, high level of work ethic and able to work unsupervised for long periods of time. 

Willing to travel extensively and for long periods away from Philomath throughout the PNW. 

Be a licensed driver with a clean driving record.

Compensation

- $55,000 – $65,000 per year DOE
- Sales bonus
