JOB DESCRIPTION 

Western Forest Products' Central Island Forest Operation is currently seeking a fully qualified Production Supervisor, Woods (Woods Foreman) to join their team at the Englewood Forest Operation in Woss, B.C.  Woss is located 90 minutes north of Campbell River or 45 minutes south of Port McNeill.  This role will be on a 5&2 shift, 8 hours per day. The operation harvests approximately 780,000m3 annually and builds about 70 kilometers of road. 

Reporting to the Manager, Operations, the Production Supervisor, Woods is responsible for leading company crews and ensuring the highest standards of safety, production and environmental protection are maintained.  The position requires the successful candidate to work as part of a team of supervisors directly responsible for yarding, loading and hauling crews.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS

You are a highly motivated individual who recognizes the value of a team orientated approach in performing this challenging position.  You bring to the job an excellent safety record, a good working knowledge of applicable occupational health & safety regulations and a willingness to work with Western Forest Products in realizing its safety and production objectives. 

You are known amongst your peers for your strong leadership and communication skills and have supervisory experience leading logging crews.  

You have first-hand knowledge and experience in a unionized environment.  

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is an asset.
