JOB DESCRIPTION 

Western Forest Products is currently seeking a fully qualified and experienced Production Supervisor, Roads to join our North Island Forest Operation (NIFO) in our Holberg location, approximately 45 kms west of Port Hardy.  This position will work a 5&2 shift and company housing is available.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, The Production Supervisor, Roads will be responsible for supervising a crew of up to 20 people.  The Holberg road construction program builds approximately 45 km of road annually.

The successful applicant will have extensive experience in all facets of coastal road construction including drilling, blasting and implementation of road layout and planning.  The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and safely is an essential requirement of this position.

You have a comprehensive understanding of the regulations for the transportation of explosives.  You possess a good working knowledge of the USW Collective Agreement. Supervisory experience leading logging crews and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is an asset. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The successful applicant will have a proven safety record and a minimum of 5 years' coastal logging/road construction experience in a supervisory capacity.  

You will have a comprehensive understanding of the regulations for the construction and maintenance of roads, and the transportation of explosives.  You will have a strong degree of knowledge of the Collective Agreement and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
