Education Required: The idea candidate must a high school GED and prefer they have a 2 year technical degree.
Years Experience Required: 7 to 10 years of manufacturing experience in a related environment. At least two years of experience in a supervisor role.
Description:
The Production Supervisor directs a team of manufacturing staff to ensure productivity, quality, and safety goals are met.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe work record and a safe environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations. Comply with all requirements regarding PPE, safety training, and safe work habits.
- Maintain company quality standards and requirements.
- Follow all work instructions and comply with all company policies.
- Develop schedules and detailed work order specifications for the team.
- Coordinate work orders, change orders, special orders, or repairs with other teams and engineering
- Ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff.
- Work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective
- Lead work reviews, monitor quality and efficiency metrics
- Provide reports on team activities, problems and improvements.
- Develop team rapport; encourage the development of the team members.
- Track attendance of team members, take corrective action when necessary
- Submit payroll on time and accurately
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Two-year technical degree or the equivalent
- Seven to 10 years of manufacturing experience in a related environment
- At least two years of experience in a lead role
- Leadership skills
- Self-motivated and capable of working with little or no supervision
- Effective oral and written skills
- Ability to be part of a multifunctional/multi-skilled organization with a willingness to work as required by plant production priorities
Other:
- Will lead a group of up to 10 team members.
- Manufacturing environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, noise, and moving mechanical parts.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of outside weather conditions.
- This position is very active and requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing.
- The mill operates a 24/7/365 schedule.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts and overtime, including weekends and holidays, as the work dictates.
Compensation
Wage: $21 - $28/hour depending on experience
