A well established, international forestry company are now hiring for a Production Supervisor to join their team in Fort St. John. You will be a leader and have minimum 2+ years of experience working as a Shift Supervisor in wood products manufacturing – OSB, Plywood, Sawmill or any other Engineered wood products. JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision, coaching and training of the plant’s production team during the assigned shift. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Work closely with Management and the Maintenance department to ensure plant’s production is optimized and Production KPIs are met
  • Schedule manpower and equipment
  • Mentor team in productivity, operations and safety
  • Identify talent for development
  • Monitor KPIs and Performance – conduct annual performance reviews
  • Work with Management to determine departmental budget and then manage budget
  • Foster a work safety culture
  • Participate in various optimization, LEAN and Six Sigma projects

MUST HAVES

  • Minimum 2 years of experience supervising a team of 15-20 individuals
  • MUST have previous experience in wood products manufacturing (preferably in a leadership role) – OSB, Veneer, Plywood, Sawmill, Pulp, Paper
  • Must have coach/mentor as first mentality
  • Ability to relocate
