Western Forest Products is offering a Production Coordinator - Manufacturing Program.

The objective of this program is to identify, train and develop the future leaders of our Company. Production Coordinator Trainees will be placed in a number of roles with the objective of learning the various elements of the business, but also to assess their suitability for advancement within the organization, and a career path designed to optimize your leadership capabilities in manufacturing production and optimization for your career development and the needs of the business.

The Production Coordinator Trainee is a leadership role in Manufacturing. This is a pivotal role providing the analysis and forecasting for sawmill production. In this highly visible role you will work closely with manufacturing GM’s and Operations Managers, act as a key advisor and delivers cut programs to drive highest margin returns and best results for our customers.

This role interfaces with leaders from sales/marketing, log supply, finance and manufacturing and requires a well-developed business acumen and strong analytical aptitude. Amongst your peers, you are considered a team player who works well in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. You have a demonstrated ability to multi-task, respond to changing condition and excel under the pressure of deadlines.

Successful candidates may be assigned to multiple locations on the east and west side of Southern Vancouver Island.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • Masters Degree in Commerce, Management or similar business degree. This may be an ideal role for a recent MBA graduate.
  • Post-secondary degree in Wood Products Processing, Forestry, Engineering or Business Administration, or a combination of relevant education and lumber manufacturing experience.
