Process Specialist (Engineering)

Our client operates one of the most modern environmentally sustainable pulp and paper mills in the world. Their dedicated team members and contractors produce approximately 650,000 tonnes of high quality, elemental chlorine-free bleached kraft pulp annually.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Environmental and cost improvements.
  • Process optimization.
  • Energy and chemical budgeting.
  • Provide technical support for operating business units in order to improve mill reliability and reduce costs.
  • Interface with research and educational institutes to leverage and implement technology developments.
  • Recommend process modifications for mill optimization.
  • Perform pre-feasibility studies on new mill technology and process changes.
  • Monitor process conditions to minimize environmental impacts and minimize cost.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental operating permit.
  • Provide coaching and technical development for lab/process technicians.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Chemical Engineering Degree preferred but will consider other education and experience.
  • Bleached Kraft technical experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with commitment to self-development.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning.
