Process Engineer (Engineering)

PROCESS ENGINEER DUTIES:

  • Develop understanding of critical process and technical requirements, identify areas of technical risk in assigned projects, conduct prototype and feasibility testing (wherever possible) to verify concept, and define/document system design specifications
  • Define state of performance at each site and examine trends
  • Lead & support Best Practice groups
  • Articulate vision for future state and best-in-class performance metrics, develop plan, and manage business functions to achieve vision
  • Manage technical aspects of key vendors
  • Conceive, plan, and execute projects
  • Inform and advise key business leaders (i.e. executives and plant management) on improving operations
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to achieve goals
  • Create/update/maintain standard work documents (SOPs) to develop and train maintenance, manufacturing operators, and team leaders
  • Comply with safety, good housekeeping, product quality and related regulatory requirements
  • Estimated 50-80% travel (most is within 1-2 hours of Raleigh, NC with periodic overnight stays as needed) to other company manufacturing sites in the Southeast region

PROCESS ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS: 

  • BS or higher in engineering REQUIRED; Mechanical Engineering HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • 2+ years of direct manufacturing experience REQUIRED
  • Tooling, stamping, and/or pressing operational experience PREFERRED but not required 
  • Possess strong problem solving skills, be data-driven, be a self-starter, and possess ability to be very attentive to detail 
  • Working knowledge of Process/Value Stream Mapping and FMEA 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint with ability to learn other applications as related to the role
