Planning Forester Required - Thunder Bay

RW Forestry Inc. is an established, Thunder Bay based, forestry consulting company that provides Planning and Renewal Support Services primarily to Resolute Forest Products on the Black Spruce, Caribou, Crossroute, Dog River – Matawin, and English River Forests. We are looking for a self motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Planning Forester. This position will involve working both independently and as part of an excellent and supportive team of 12 full-time staff. As a Planning Forester, most of the responsibilities will be carried out in an office but may involve occasional field work as required.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Annual Work Schedule and Annual Report preparation

• Forest Management Plan Preparation Support

• Revisions and Amendments

• Audit documentation support

• GIS work

• Other work as required

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• be a Registered Professional Forester (or capable of obtaining R.P.F. status within one year)

• knowledge of MS Office software

• have a strong work and safety ethic

• strong organizational and interpersonal skills

• strong writing skills

• possess a valid class G drivers license with a good driving record

• have experience in the use of GIS technologies 

NOTE: *Only Canadian citizens with experience working in the Canadian Boreal Forest will be considered. 

Compensation

Salary:

• $55,000 - $60,000 per year based on experience
