THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The Planer Manager will be an exceptional leader and skilled communicator. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated, self-starter. They will need to assume responsibility, manage multiple priorities and make appropriate decisions rapidly on the basis of experience and judgment.

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • A minimum of five years’ of equivalent experience in forest products manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrated progression in leadership roles

THE DUTIES:

  • Leads, directs and organizes a team of 40+ planer employees, ensuring each and every team member adheres to the strictest of health, safety and environmental policies and procedures as set out by Carrier Forest Products Ltd.
  • Recommends measures to improve production performance techniques, equipment performance, and quality of the product.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, leadership, training and support for operating personnel and fosters a professional working relationship with all employees.
  • Provides leadership and direction around strategic planning and is responsible for capital projects’ planning and implementation.
  • Gives immediate feedback and recommendations on problems and opportunities. 

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience.
